Legend says that when God was fashioning different breeds of dog out of clay, he came to his final task and decided to create the most beautiful dog ever and call it a ‘Boxer’. But this new breed of dog was vain and rushed to see himself in the mirror before the clay was set correctly and bumped headlong into his own reflection. That accounts for the flat nose of the Boxer, and also proves that God really did accomplish his design for the world’s most beautiful dog! Some dog breeds can be more susceptible to allergies than others. This could be because of small nasal passages, allergic reactions to flea bites, irritable stomachs that make digesting food difficult, or they may be allergic to their own hair. Dogs that have allergies include the following breeds: Bishon frise, terriers, retrievers, beagles, setters, and boxers. All dogs have the potential to be allergic to something, though.
The Boxer is an amazing and super playful dog, energetic and definitely a handful (in a good way of course). This breed of dog is very loyal and when a friendship is built it lasts forever. The boxer is unique and not for everyone if you are a new owner of a boxer you have to be aware that they need a lot of attention and training. They are extremely intelligent dogs, which can work to your advantage when it comes to training, but then again can be very disadvantageous, as they know how to use their intelligence to get what they want.
In my life, I’ve had so many different dogs. I have loved each and every one of them dearly but had never found the “perfect” breed. I wanted a dog that was great with children but also a good watchdog. I ended up doing some research and found the Boxer to be just what I was looking for. I am now owned by two white Boxers; Kevin and Lew. They are as different as day and night. They both love to play and run around, but while one is fiercely protective, the other, she couldn’t care less!
The boxer dog breed originated in Germany in late 19th century. This is recognized as the standard. A great deal of this standard remains in today’s written standards from around the world. The Boxer was bred from Alt’s Schecken, which was bred to a bulldog in 1895.
This ended up being the birth of the 1st boxer dog which was registered in the Stud Book in the year 1904. In the early years, there was a high level of inbreeding which was done to set a type in order to make the breed. In the early years of breeding, one of the most critical dogs was the female dog named Meta v.d. Passage.
